Big Girls

I decided I was so very sick of changing diapers on two kids, but mostly just on Kamryn because she is over 3 years old and it's gross. Not that baby poop isn't gross, but 3 year old poop is much, much worse! So, I dug out the potty chart that we bought months ago and talked to Kamryn about the joys of going potty on the toilet. She caught on fairly quickly and loved getting to put a sticker on her potty chart after each time she went. We told her that after the chart was full we would buy her the toy of her choice. It only took her about 3 days to fill it so off to the store we went. She chose a little Cinderella set with a carriage, horses, fairy godmother, mice and of course, Cinderella herself. She is still pretty good at letting us know when she needs to go potty, but she says "Mom, I no pee my undies!" which means that she needs to go right NOW! She gets upset when she has an accident, which I think is good because hopefully she will be accident-free soon.

Kenadie started 3rd grade today and I know everyone says this, but I can't believe how fast she is growing up! Before school they had a flag ceremony and then had all the teachers outside holding up signs with their grade and name on them. This year Kenadie has Mr. Averill, who we have heard very good things about. He's an older teacher (62 to be exact) and he is famous for doing plays throughout the year. Kenadie isn't sure if she wants to have speaking parts or just be in the background, but I'm going to see if I can convince her to step out of her comfort zone a little bit and try some speaking parts. :)

Here's the usual first-day-of-school-in-front-of-the-house picture.

I snapped a few pictures of her waiting for school to start. Her friend Annalyse, who is in our ward, is in her class this year so she is excited about that. (She's in the purple shirt looking at Kenadie.)
