It has been a very long couple of days. I have been going back and forth to the hospital since I was discharged on Friday. I'm at the hospital in the morning in time for Khloe's 8:30am feeding and I spend all day there until after her 8:30pm feeding. Then I go home to kiss the girls goodnight, go to bed, wake up to pump breastmilk a few times and then I'm back at the hospital in the morning. I left the hospital today in the afternoon and it was the first time I have seen mid-day sun in 5 days. You wouldn't think this was a big deal, but when you're inside a hospital with no windows in the NICU and the lights are dim all the time, you tend to lose track of whether it's mid-day or the middle of the night. I'm pretty exhausted but there's no way I could leave Khloe alone for too long. The nurses have been wonderful and the only reason I can bring myself to go home at night (besides seeing my family) is the fact that she is in such good care.
As I mentioned, I came home mid-day today for a few reasons. One, today is Kamryn's second birthday. I can't believe she is two years old already! (I'll have to make a separate post about that.) The other reason I'm home right now is because Chris and I are going back to the hospital at 8:00 tonight to Room-In, which means Khloe is coming home tomorrow!!! The reason we have to spend the night is because she is coming home on oxygen and they have to teach us how to use everything and we also have to take an infant CPR class. They've tried to wean her off of the oxygen, but she is being a little lazy and likes the extra air she is getting. I think she will be on an apnea monitor as well to make sure she doesn't stop breathing. All this should only be for a few weeks and the doctor said to treat her just like any other newborn, she'll just have tubes up her nose for a little while.
So, we should finally have our family all together sometime tomorrow morning. Kenadie is very excited, especially since she is sad that she hasn't met her baby sister yet. (Khloe was in the NICU before her sisters ever made it to the hospital and they don't let kids inside.) We've told Kenadie that she can be the first one to hold her once she gets home; Chris and I are the only ones outside the nurses and doctors who have held her.
Anyway, thanks to everyone for all of your continued prayers and acts of service (you know who you are!). We are truely blessed to have such wonderful family and friends and we love you all!

We are so happy to hear that she is coming home tomorrow! I have been thinking so much about you guys the last few days. I totally understand what you're feeling and experiencing, and that is why my heart has been aching for you!
I am so happy to read this post and hear that she will be home soon! Words cannot describe what it feels like to finally be home as a family after being so torn apart! Best of luck with the transitioning! I would love to help in any way that I can! Please don't hesitate to call (8015935729) if you need ANYTHING! It can be so overwhelming!
We believe in miracles, and know that our Heavenly Father sends extra blessings in our times of need!
Welcome Home little Khloe!
I am so happy things have gotten better for you guys! I had to laugh when you called her lazy and said she must like the extra air, I kind of like being on oxygen myself. It gives you kind of a weird high. I don't blame her! :)
Anyway, I'm so happy she gets to come home tomorrow!
And Happy Birthday Kamryn! I'm with you, I can't believe she's already two. Nuts!!
Congratulations! I hope that you will be able to hold and love her as much as you want now. We want to come meet her, but we also want you to have some space and time if you need it. We'll call first, but let us know if there is anything we can do for you!
