Beauty Parlor

Kenadie loves to play Beauty Parlor and we don't do it very often because...well...I don't like knots in my hair! :) Lately I have been feeling that I don't spend enough one on one time with her so yesterday I told her that we could play Beauty Parlor tonight. She was very excited and it's all she talked about all day today! I even told her we could put real makeup on, not just the pretend kind. (She got some makeup for Christmas and her birthday, it doesn't show up very well but that is just fine with me! I don't want to look like I'm back in the 80's!) She had a great time picking out what colors to use and wanted to do our nails in a pattern and I even let her paint my toenails, which as some of you know has only happened twice in my life! After all the beautifying of our faces and nails, I put sponge curlers in her hair (our first attempt, we'll see what it looks like in the morning) and she gave me pigtails with a flower over my ear.

It turned out to be a fun night and Kenadie kept asking "Can we do this again next Friday?!" I love my baby girl, who is now 7, and growing up way too fast!

I know you can't see the makeup, but this was a good time for the "less is more" speech!

You look MAVELOUS, DAWLING! Simply, mavelous. I want to see the after pictures of the sponge curlers. Elizabeth's hair goes super crazy afro when we do them!
