After a few minutes, we were taken to the next waiting room to meet the anesthesiologist and doctor. Kamryn was given a sedative to help with the separation when it was time to hand her over and she wasn't happy about having to sit in our laps instead of playing with the toys. (They don't want kids walking around after being given a sedative, I'm sure you can imagine why!) We spoke briefly with the doctors and then walked down the hall to the surgical rooms where I had to hand my baby over to the anesthesiologist. That was hard because she was sleepy, but not sedated enough to not realize that her mommy was handing her to a strange woman. She started crying and was reaching her arms out for me to take her and I had to walk around the corner because I started crying too and didn't want to see her like that. I felt like I was abandoning her, but I knew she would be fine.
We went to the surgical waiting room (there are a LOT of different waiting rooms) and sat there for about 20-25 minutes before the doctor came in to tell us that everything went great! He made a small incision in the crease of her belly-nubbin, made sure everything was where it was supposed to be and then sewed her up. He gave us a few quick instructions and then told us we could see her in about 15 minutes.
30 minutes later we were called back and Kamryn was pretty grumpy. They had woken her up and tried to give her a bottle of Pedialyte which was a problem because she has NEVER liked a bottle. One of the nurses was holding her and as soon as she saw Chris and I she cried and held her arms out to us. It took awhile to calm her down and the nurse brought her a sippy cup of apple juice, which she drank very fast. She was mad at the IV line and didn't like the little board attached to her arm. It was kind of funny because it was almost like she was yelling at it, telling us she wanted it off of her. Chris finally got her to go to sleep and we were there for about an hour before the nurse came to do a last set of vitals, took the IV out (which she was NOT happy about during the process but once it was over she was fine) and then told us we could go home. She was still pretty groggy and didn't make a peep when we put her pajamas back on. I sat next to her in the car on the ride home and she held my hand almost the whole way.
She has done very well today, still has her moments of fussiness, but for the most part is up and playing with her sister. Hopefully she'll sleep well tonight and tomorrow she will be even better.
A few other pics:
This is her poor little hand after they tried an IV twice before moving to the other side.
The belly-nubbin before surgery, much different from when she was born!
Kamryn checking out her bandage for the first time. She's not too happy about it and will hopefully leave it alone!:
She has her post-op check-up in 2 weeks and then maybe I can post a picture of her new beautiful belly button! (Actually, her belly button will probably never look like a "normal" belly button, but atleast I probably won't have to worry about her wearing a bikini or shirts that show her stomach! ;) ) Thanks, everyone, for all of your love and prayers!

She is such a cutie, and I am glad everything went okay! IT is such a scary thing to go through, no matter how minor or major of an operation it is. Let us know if you need anything!
So glad that things went well! The bubbles were a life saver for us as well! It's so hard to see them grumpy and out of sorts! Glad that she is up and playing and hope that she continues to improve!
Thanks for the update :) We were happy to hear that everything went well. That is so smart to have bubbles there for the kids....they really know what they are doing there!!
