Update on Kamryn

I called Kamryn's doctor today and asked him about what happened yesterday. At first he thought maybe she was face down or covered by blankets, but I told him when I woke up I could see her face so I know she wasn't being smothered. After talking for several minutes, we decided that it was probably caused by the position we were laying in, that her airway was probably slowly being cut off. The doctor said I am EXTREMELY lucky and if I woke up 3-5 minutes later, Kamryn wouldn't be here. No more co-sleeping for us, she will be in her own bed tonight and every night from now on. Her life is much too precious for me to be selfish and try to get more sleep while I feed her.
All day yesterday and today I kept looking at her and thinking about how much I would miss that cute smile and little giggle of hers. But, enough of that! I am greatful for every second I get to spend with my girls and I am going to take what I learned from this experience and move forward.

I still can't believe that happened and it makes me want to cry to think of anything happening to your cute Kamryn!! I have been a little paranoid about my own baby, and I have been very diligent about her sleeping in the basinet lately since this happened to you. I am so glad that you were so in tune with the spirit! Hevenly Father must really love you Katie...how blessed you are that he is watching and protecting you and your family!

That is so scary! I'm glad everything is okay. I kind of look at things from the other point of view. It's lucky she was in the bed with you so you were right there when it happened. I had a friend whose baby died of SIDS last year and it scares me to death. Thank goodness your sweet baby is okay!

Rachel, I thought the exact same thing after it happened. What if I wasn't there??? But, I really do believe that it was caused by the position she was in and the warning I got was stern and clear!
