Update

I know it's been awhile since I've posted but it's been crazy busy around here. I've had doctor's appointments for my mom's cancer, her broken wrist, my own doctor appointments and Kamryn had one yesterday because she keeps getting hives at random times of the day.
My mom had a single mastectomy on January 16 and all went really well. They had to remove 24 lymph nodes, but only 2 ended up being cancerous so that was really good news. Physically she is healing really well and finally got her drains taken out on Monday, which is great because I had to empty them for the first week before she was able to empty them on her own. I would do it again though, anything to help her and make her comfortable. We went to the L.A.C.E store in Bountiful and she got some undergarments to wear until she has plastic surgery, probably in a year.
Emotionally I think she is a lot better after our shopping trip yesterday, she feels more confident in going out of the house and even went with us to our ultrasound to see the little one. (She's still a girl!) She will meet with the oncologist on February 10 and probably start chemo a week or two after that.

I took her to the doctor yesterday for her wrist and she finally got her cast off. She has a splint that she has to wear for the next few weeks, but atleast she can take it off to shower!

My schedule is crazy, I get Kenadie off to school at 8:30am and then go straight to my mom's until it's time to drive the carpool at 3:30pm. After that we come home to finish homework, read the book of the day that Kenadie brings home and practice piano. Sometimes things don't get done until after dinner but we also have my sports twice a week and Chris has scouts and Kenadie has pitching once a week. My mom has one more week off of work and then maybe daily life will be a bit less crazy.

Thanks everyone for your continued prayers, support and phone calls! If I don't return your messages, it's not because I don't like you ;), it's because there is so much going on that by the time I get home I am exhausted and ready to crash. My wonderful husband has been so great in keeping up with the laundry and dishes, otherwise we would be eating on paper plates and wearing dirty clothes! I am so blessed to have him!

Here are a few pictures of my mom. The blanket over her is one I made (with the help of Lindsey, Jana, Brittany and Melissa. Thanks guys, it would have taken forever without you!) and gave to her the morning of surgery. She also got a pink cast for the occasion. She wasn't thrilled to have her picture taken and the quality is not the best since I didn't have my camera with me, but here they are anyway.

It was good to see you and your cute family! I was talking to Chris last week at church, and we both decided we really need to try and get together more often! Maybe a wii party at your house soon, since we missed new years??!!
