I was tagged by Melissa forever ago and I didn't do the first one so I thought I should cooperate this time!

8 Random Facts About Me:

1- I have irrational fears. I can't explain it, but I am a big scaredy cat when it comes to a lot of things: the dark, basements (only when I'm by myself), feeling like my kids are going to die any second, claustrophobia, those are just a few of the many fears I have. I actually dread going to bed, maybe that's why I stay up so late and am tired all the time.

2- If I could go back to highschool, I would. However, I would only go back to play softball. I pitched for three years on the varsity team. Some of the best times of my life were spent on that field and I miss it terribly. I started playing when I was 9 and until I was 18 it's all I did. I had to quit because my shoulder was messed up and I had surgery. I'm not supposed to ever play softball again, but I have never been one to follow the rules!

3- I love vinegar on fries. You should try it, it's so yummy! It comes from the Canadian side of me.

4- I have severe depression. I debated whether or not to put this one in here because I try not to dwell on it. But, it's a big part of my life, something I'm sure I'll always struggle with. Some days I only get out of bed because I have two kids to take care of. Other days I'm fine. I've been on so many different medications that I don't even remember them all. Currently, I am not on anything. So if I've yelled at you the last few months, don't take it personally! ;)

5- I used to rollerskate in competition. I was born and mostly raised in Washington State, an hour away from the Canadian border, where my brother played hockey. My parents wanted to get me into some sort of activity and worked part-time at the local roller rink, thus began my career as a future Michelle Kwan on wheels. It's the same as ice figure skating, but not as cold! Lol! I was never as good as Michelle Kwan, of course, but I do have some trophies and medals for my efforts. A few years ago, Chris got me Sketchers 4-wheelers for my birthday, so feel free to stop by and I'll demonstrate my mad skills for ya!

6- My parents bought my first, and second, cars for me. When I turned 16, my parents bought me a 1988 Chevrolet Spectrum. (They wanted me to concentrate on softball and not have to work very much. SPOILED!) It was a cherry red, 2-door hatchback and my friends and I named him "Pubert" because honking the horn sounded like a 12 year old boy going through puberty. A few months later, my dad got a 1985 Toyota truck that I fell in love with. It was originally meant for him to drive back and forth to work in, but I used my powers of pursuasion and talked him into trading cars with me. (Always a daddy's girl!) It was awesome in the snow since it was 4-wheel drive and I had no problem getting to my friends' houses since they all lived on the hills in Bountiful. In the Spring, two of my friends and I were skipping school (something we did quite often) and someone ran a stop sign and hit us, totalling my beautiful truck. Back to Pubert I went.

7- I can't make up my mind. I have a hard time making decisions about anything and often make them on the fly. I think this comes out of fear, fear of making the wrong decision. I am very self-critical when things don't go right.

8- I used to be an EMT. Shortly before Chris and I got engaged, I took an EMT class because I thought that's what I wanted to do. It was a lot of fun, but it also made me realize that I can't handle things as well as I thought I could. After I passed the state exam, which was really nerve-wracking, I decided to pursue other things.

Well, there you go, 8 things about me that you may or may not have already known. I probably rambled a bit, but it's your own fault if you got bored and kept reading! ;)

I love these tags. It's fun to find out things about others that I don't know. I didn't know you studied to be an EMT. That's awesome. My brother is doing that right now. I knew you roller skated but I didn't know you were so skilled in the art!
I'm actually glad you mentioned your depression. It helps to tell people around you so they are aware and can help in any way they can.
You're such a neat person, Katie! There are so many people around you that love and admire you! DON'T EVER FORGET THAT!!!
I signed this as Melissa rather than Staheli, so there would be no confusion. LOL!
