The Doc

I took Kamryn for her 1 year appointment on Friday and it went great! She weighs 18lbs 7oz (7th percentile) and is 27 inches long (5th percentile). Dr. Black is really pleased with her development, especially since she's walking and can say a few words. She had to get 4 shots and I think she was more mad at the fact that she had to lay on the table rather than being mad at the shots themselves. She has quite the stubborn personality (I wonder where she gets that from?!) and when she doesn't want to do something, she will definitely let you know!
As far as her umbilical hernia goes, we still have to wait and see what it looks like at her next appointment, which is already scheduled for December 8. For those of you who don't know, Kamryn's belly button didn't close up on the inside when she was born and she had a GINORMOUS hernia, which has gone down a LOT, much to Dr. Black's surprise. At first he told us she will definitely have to have surgery to repair it, but now he is hopeful that she won't have to have it done. So, we'll reevaluate the situation in 6 months and if needed, we will be referred to a surgeon for his/her opinion. (If I can find pictures of the hernia from when she was 4 months old, I'll post them along with how it looks now.)
