And of course, it was my eye that had to be blackened! While I'm waiting for our pics to download, I'll tell you the story. We had just gotten inside the San Diego Zoo (which was awesome, btw!) and we spotted the flamingos and went over to see them. There had to be atleast 50 of them and they were pretty darn cool, so I got out my camera to snap a few photos and then handed the camera back to Chris. There were also quite a few pigeons that were trying to steal the flamingos food and as soon as I handed the camera to Chris, I looked up and saw a STUPID PIGEON flying straight at my head! So, I turned toward Chris and ducked really fast and slammed the side of my head into my camera. I felt the pain right away and it swelled immediately. Chris said, "What did you do that for??" to which I replied, "Because that bird was flying at my head!!" Then he said, "What bird?" Apparently he did not see the pigeon, so I looked at Kenadie and asked her if she saw it and she said yes, so I know I'm not crazy! A few minutes later, I asked Chris if my face was bruising and he said no, but that it was more swollen and had a cut on it. For those of you with a Canon Rebel like mine, there's a spot on top for the extra flash to connect to the camera and that's the part I slammed my head into.
Okay, so my eye isn't horribly black and blue, but it's still a little bit swollen and the bruise that started out light is getting darker so we'll see what it looks like in the morning. If our pictures ever finish downloading, I'll post one of my run-in with the stupid pigeon!
It was a fun day regardless of my headache!
